Workplace Change Proposal

If you intend to make changes that will impact on employees in any way, you are required to first present a Workplace Change Proposal to your team, following a correct and compliant process. This is required of employers in every situation – for example if the office is to undergo a refit and you require people to work in an alternate location or at home, you need to propose a change and solicit feedback and concerns before going ahead.

Employees who have a place of work and hours of work specified in their Employment Agreement need to consent to a variation on this with a written & signed Temporary Variation on Employment Agreement.

Temporary Variations on Agreements must have a completion date – and a revised document must be circulated and signed should that date require an extension.

If the change is to be permanent, a Permanent Variation on Agreement document must be agreed to.

While this may seem like a lot of additional work, it is very useful should there be a dispute over what has been agreed and in the instance of a grievance being taken against an employer, is invaluable in mediation for the small investment to have correct processes in place and compliant procedures being followed.
