Severability Policy
This clause lets the employee know that if any clause in the existing employment agreement no longer applies, the rest of the employment agreement will remain in place.
The severability policy (which must be published in your Policy Manual) clarifies for employees that the cancellation of an individual clause in their employment agreement impacts that clause alone and that the rest of the agreement remains in place.
This ensures compliance and that there is no misunderstanding with regards to the agreement should individual clauses need to be cancelled.
