Security Policy – Monitoring of Equipment
Employer Equipment Usage Monitoring
Employers may monitor employee use of equipment in the workplace, but must formally advise employees of their intention to do so.
In this, employees who use workplace devices for personal business may anticipate this activity to be tracked and that it not be private.
This policy makes it clear that the use of workplace equipment can and will be monitored at all times, and that personal use is not appropriate. This may include handheld devices and those devices used outside of office premises for work purposes.
