Resigning Without Notice – Confirmation Letter
When an employee leaves without giving a resignation letter or period of notice, the employer must provide confirmation of the resignation without notice with a letter confirming the resignation.
This template is written for this purpose.
The employee’s Employment Agreement must outline resignation expectation – and this information is referenced in the Confirmation of Resignation Without Notice Letter.
If the resignation is the outcome of a breakdown in the relationship between employer and employee, it is recommended that further documentation be created around this and held on file for future reference.
Should the lack of resignation be determined to be abandonment of employment, a process should be followed before assuming the employee has resigned without notice.
