Performance Investigation Letter

A letter used to provide to an employee when their performance is being investigated.

This ensures the correct process has been followed on the employer’s part and that the employer is acting in good faith and being fair and reasonable.

Certain steps in the disciplinary process must be in writing and this is one of them. In using this template (or all of our templates), you will ensure your risk of non-compliance is reduced. Employee personal grievance claims upheld against employers during a disciplinary process are almost always due to the incorrect process being followed.

Acting in good faith and following the required steps not only ensures compliance, but it also ensures a fair and reasonable evaluation of the situation is conducted. One of the first steps in that process is to inform the employee that their performance is entering an investigation process.
