There are specific steps and actions required from employers when undergoing a disciplinary process of any nature in the workplace.
Note that this does not cover every single scenario but it provides guidelines on what to consider, correct processes, what is required, and why you have to follow a process to protect yourself as the business owner, to ensure you reduce our risk of personal grievance due to following incorrect process.
Employers may initiate and conduct disciplinary action but must take care to follow a clear, structured, compliant process in doing so – which will more than likely end up with a mutually positive outcome with the employee concerned.
