Suspension Advice Letter Related to Drug Test
When an employee’s drug and alcohol test is returned as a non-negative result, the employee can be stood down immediately, but the correct process to advise of suspension must be followed.
Your Drug & Alcohol Policy should cover this eventuality, to ensure that employees are aware of the process that will be followed.
This letter template provides a structured base for employers to use in the delivery of the advice that they have been stood down from the place of work and nominates the path forward for further investigation.
It is required that this be given to the employee in writing.
